Rewe Final4 will be played on June 3rd and 4th, 2021
Cologne/Hamburg, April 28, 2021 - The REWE Final4 2020 for the DHB Cup 2020, which could not be take place at the beginning of April last year due to the Corona pandemic, will be made up for this year. The tournament will not be played on a weekend as usual, but this year on Thursday (June 3rd, 2021) and Friday (June 4th, 2021). HBL media partners SKY, ARD and ZDF will show all three matches live in full length and for free.
ZDF will kick off the final round of the DHB Cup with the first semifinal TBV Lemgo Lippe vs. THW Kiel. SKY will then show the second semifinal MT Melsungen vs. TSV Hannover-Burgdorf, which can be seen on Sky Sport News (SSN) on Free-TV. "Das Erste" completes its comprehensive handball lineup with a broadcast of the final match on Friday, June 4th, 2021.
Sky will show the complete REWE Final4 with both semifinal matches on Thursday and the final on Friday live on pay TV (SKY Sport).
In total, the three broadcasters will offer fans and sports enthusiasts up to five hours of top handball live over two days, as well as background reports about the qualified teams and the event. The venue for the REWE Final4 is still the Barclaycard Arena Hamburg, which has been the venue for the premium handball event of HBL GmbH since 1993. REWE AG has held the naming rights to the DHB Cup Final4 since 2015.
In coordination with ARD and ZDF, the REWE Final4 is integrated into "Die Finals 2021 Berlin | Rhein Ruhr". At the multi-sport event, around 18 different sports will determine their national champions over four days (June 3 to 6). As part of a joint production, public broadcasters will report on the event for a total of more than 30 hours. In addition, exklusive livestreams will be offered.
