THW Kiel have already been confirmed as participants since their triumph at the REWE Final4 2022 in April. At that time, Kiel won the cup final against SC Magdeburg with 28:21. SC Magdeburg was then crowned German champion in the LIQUI MOLY HBL for the first time in 21 years after an impressive season with only four minus points and is now certainly keen to win the next final duel against THW.
However, THW will also be the defending champions and record Super Cup winners. In 22 finals, the North Germans have already taken the cup home eleven times. Last year, the Kiel team won the first trophy of the season in a thriller with a 30-29 victory over TBV Lemgo Lippe.
Since 2018, the Pixum Super Cup has been held in the PSD BANK DOME in the state capital Düsseldorf, which has a capacity of over 10,000 spectators. In addition to a top-class handball match between Germany's top teams, fans can expect an extensive supporting programme.
