Cologne, May 04, 2020 – Due to the continuing official ban on events until at least August 31st 2020, the Handball Bundesliga GmbH is forced to postpone the REWE Final4 tournament for the DHB Cup 2019/20 to the year 2021. The new date for the tournament is February 27th and 28th 2021. Furthermore HBL anounces the new date for the Pixum Super Cup 2020, as well.

The premium event will be held in the Barclaycard Arena in Hamburg. Already purchased tickets remain valid.Qualified for the event are record holder THW Kiel, TBV Lemgo Lippe, MT Melsungen and TSV Hannover-Burgdorf. These four teams will play the title holder of the year 2020 in two semi-finals on Saturday and the final on Sunday.

Pixum Super Cup 2020 is also postponed

In addition, the Handball-Bundesliga GmbH is planning the start of season 2020/21. The Pixum Super Cup officially opens the season on September 2nd 2020 in the ISS DOME in Düsseldorf. Originally, the start of the season was planned for August 26th. Tickets purchased so far remain valid.

Traditionally, the German champion and the DHB Cup-Winner will face each other here. However, since the latter will not be determined until next year due to the corona pandemic, the THW Kiel as the German Champion will face the SG Flensburg-Handewitt, who is second in the abandonment table.
